Traralgon Swimmers shine at Country SC event
Only a small team of 12 swimmers attended the SC championships at Wangaratta over the past weekend, but they earned some terrific results. Brayden Waltham and Georgia Tsebelis had outstanding meets with Brayden winning 6 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals and Georgia bringing home 5 gold, and a silver.  Elliot Shaw added a silver and a bronze and Daniel Golcic won 3 bronze to help the team place 3rd over all.
Swimmers now prepare for the State Championships to be held 6th/7th September.

Traralgon Swimming Club Names Captains for 2008/09

eremy Saunders (centre back) and Kirsten Lieshout (centre front) were named Captains and Brayden Waltham and Jeremy Meyer and Charley Askew and Georgia Collings were named Vice Captains for the season.

The Traralgon Swimming Club congratulates Ash Delaney ~ former Club swimmer ~ for his awesome performance at the Beijing Olympics. 5th in the 100m Backstroke with a pb time of 53.31, 0.13 away from Bronze.  Ashley brings home a silver medal from the 4 x 100m Medley event where he swam the backstroke leg in the heats paving the way for Australia's silver medal result behind the USA team! We congratulate Ashley for his inspirational Olympic experience!

LaTrobe City Cup

Swimmers from 5 local clubs and 3 Melbourne Clubs participated in the LaTrobe City Cup held on Sunday, 27th July. Host Club Traralgon was the winning club on the day with a final score of 1187 to Nunawading's 664.50.  East Gippsland Water Dragons were third on 241 points.  As winning club, Traralgon retained the LaTrobe Financial City Cup.
Age Group Champions on the day were: 8 & Under Jasmine Doultree (TRL) and Rhys Matchett (WGL), 9 Years Mikayla Smith (NUN) and Matthew Shaw (CAS), 10 Years Georgia Longford (NUN) and Joel Watson (NUN), 11 Years Georgia Tsebelis (TRL) and Christopher Lee (NUN), 12 Years Emily Zukic (NUN) and Liam Fisk (NUN), 13 Years Nerice Smith (NUN) and Mitchell Young (EGWD), 14 Years Nikaylah Hanlen (NUN) and Caradoc Markey (NUN), 15 Years Isabelle Robinson (MON) and Gerard Leone (EGWD), 16 Years Sarah Berryman (TRL) and Brayden Waltham (TRL), 17 & Over Melissa Hopley (TRL) and Jeremy Saunders (TRL). 
The Open 100 m Backstroke event carried a special prize of, for females, the Kathleen Froud Memorial trophy and, for males, the Charles Ford Memorial Trophy.  These were won by Sarah Berryman and Jeremy Meyer, both from Traralgon.
The Traralgon Swimming Club wish to thank all who supported this event.

Sarah Berryman - Female Swimmer of the Meet - with Sam Wilkins - equal winners. 2 years in a row for Sarah.

The Traralgon Swimming Club has been awarded GOLD level in 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 through the Australian Swimming Go Club program.  One of 5 Victorian clubs and 20 clubs nation wide.
