Structure for 2010/11
The Traralgon
Swimming Club has a 5 tier structure of Swimming Development as follows:
Senior Head Coach: Brian Ford oversees development at all levels.
"Saunders" Age National and National Target
Coach
Ben Geard
11-18 year old swimmers
targeting or already achieving National Age or Open qualifying times.
The Squad is offered 8 swim
sessions and 3 Strength and Conditioning Sessions each week.
States
Coach: Matt Dinsmore
Young swimmers targeting State Championships and medalling/finalling at
Country Championships. The State Squad is offered 5 swim and 2 strength and conditioning
sessions each week.
Countries
Coach
Will Morrison
Swimmers with good competence in most strokes, drills and racing skills.
Target qualifying and swimming at Country Championships. 4 swim sessions and
2 strength and conditioning sessions are offered each week.
Gippies
Coach: Michelle Ford
Competent new/young swimmers. Heavily technique focused and enhancement
of racing skills. Local Winter & Summer meets. Targeting Gippsland
Championships. 3 Swim sessions and 2 land training/conditioning sessions
offered each week
Junior
Development Squad
Coach: Michelle Ford
These are our young swimmers straight out of 'learn to swim'. We
aim to develop their skills, drills and training habits to a high level
throughout the year where they will move through to the Gippy
Squad and compete for the Club. Whilst it is not compulsory for
these swimmers to compete in their first year, the Club will provide
Clinics and Mini Meets throughout the season to familiarise swimmers
with competition. This squad has 2 swim sessions per week as
well as 2 land training/conditioning session.
Masters
Coach: Ben Geard
19 years and over swimmers who wish to enhance their swim ability and
compete in local and Masters competitions. 2 swim and conditioning
sessions offered each week
"Meyer" Breaststroke Squad
Coach: Brian Ford
Targeted breaststroke swimmers with potential to develop into a leading
Traralgon breaststroke representative. 1 session per week
