coaching, sports science, physical and mental training to ensure
our swimmers can attain the highest level of competitive
excellence.

Swimming Club is committed to being financially stable and in a
position to support initiatives and equipment requirements
through positive relationships with sponsors and active fund
raising.
The Traralgon Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club which
provides a structure for the long-term development of its
swimmers. Members are given opportunities to train with swimmers
of a similar standard under the supervision of Bronze
and Silver Level swimming coaches.
Our staff of 8 dedicated
coaches work together to provide a developmental swimming
program where there is avenue for advancement through to higher
levels.
Swimmers are encouraged to concentrate on personal
achievements along the way and are awarded for milestones
reached.
An Annual Presentation celebration is held where member's
achievements at all levels are awarded.
At the beginning, or 'Development Squad' level, Learn-to-swim
teachers Michelle Ford and Lucy van Hooydonk offer 1 - 2 x 1 hour
sessions per week at the Traralgon Indoor Sports and Aquatic
Centre. Target Squads advance to 3 - 1.5 hour sessions with Peta Whitby and Abbie
Stockdale. Committed swimmers are invited to
additional training throughout the week with Head Coach, Brian
Ford and Saturday
morning sessions with Ben Geard and Peta. Brian Ford (Silver) assisted by Open National Swimmer Ben Geard
(Bronze),
offers up to 8 sessions per week to dedicated and committed
senior/National swimmers. From the Junior Squad through seniors,
swimmers are involved in a developmental flexibility/strength
program. Senior swimmers attend weekly gym sessions with Club
Strength and Fitness coach, Sam Fenton.
Former Club member Ashley
Delaney is the current Australian record holder in the 100m
backstroke event and a member of the Australian Dolphins.
Traralgon's Jeremy Meyer is a member of the Australian team
heading for Mexico City in 2008 to compete in the World
Youth Championships. Jeremy won a gold and silver medal at
the 2008 Fisher and Paykel Australian Age Championships.
Jeremy Saunders won gold and bronze at National Age and is the 17
Years Champion from the Victorian State Championships.
Traralgon prides itself on its outstanding relay combinations
which are Victorian State and Country medallists and record
holders. The 18 & under boys 4 x 100m medley won bronze at
National Age.

In 2007/08 the Traralgon
Swimming Club has been one of 20 Australian Swimming Clubs
recognised as a Gold level service provider under the Swimming
Australia "GO CLUB" Awards Scheme. The awards scheme was
established to recognise swimming clubs around Australia and the
level of services that they provide to club members. It is
Traralgon's goal is to maintain this excellent level of service
to its members and
