To
be selected on this team was an achievement in itself as only two
swimmers from Victoria were
selected to swim in most events. Traralgon swimmer, Emily Beecroft
excelled during the week breaking the School Sport Australia record for
the Girls 10-12 years 50m Multi disability Freestyle event. Emily was
also awarded the School Sport Australia Sportsmanship Award. Over the
week Emily swam some fantastic races achieving 1 gold, 4 silver and 3
bronze for her individual events. Jasmine Doultree was outstanding in
the Girls 12 years 50m
Butterfly breaking the
Victorian Country Record for that event. Lily Collins also swam
extremely well coming home with 4 silver medals for her individual
events as well as qualifying for three events in the 2012 Australian Age
Swimming Championships and four events in the 2012 Australian Open
Swimming Championships. Maggie O’Keefe achieved a bronze medal for the
Girls 14 years 50m Freestyle event in a time which also qualified her
for the 2012 Australian Age and Open Swimming championships in that
event. Maggie also qualified for the 2012 Australian Age Swimming
Championships in the 100m Freestyle event. Another swimmer who achieved
two 2012 Australian Age Swimming Championships qualifying times was
